KUCHING, Jan 28: Sarawak Information Systems Sdn Bhd (SAINS) and EarthEye Space Technologies Pte Ltd have recently formalised a strategic collaboration to strengthen the use of satellite-based data and Earth observation capabilities in supporting planning and decision-making across key sectors in Sarawak.

The initiative is aimed at practical applications in infrastructure development, environmental monitoring, disaster management, urban planning, and resource management.

SAINS chief executive officer Busiai Seman said the partnership would enhance the company’s capacity to leverage satellite data, especially SAR imagery, to support more informed and effective planning.

“This collaboration strengthens SAINS’ ability to use satellite data, particularly Synthetic Aperture Radar imagery, to support better planning and decision-making.

“By working with EarthEye Space, we aim to deliver practical solutions that support Sarawak’s development and sustainability goals,” he said in a recent statement.

Under the collaboration, EarthEye Space Technologies will provide a secure platform to enable the efficient processing and analysis of satellite imagery, allowing SAINS and its stakeholders to access insights in a timely and effective manner.

The MoU was exchanged between Busiai and EarthEye Space Technologies senior sales executive Daniel Koh Tze Zhou, and witnessed by Premier of Sarawak Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg during the launching ceremony of the Asia Pacific Aerospace Conference and Exhibition (APACE) 2026 on Tuesday (Jan 27). — DayakDaily
