BETONG, April 5: About 3,000 packages of food aid were distributed to the rural community at the Bukit Saban constituency as part of government assistance during the movement control order (MCO).

Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas said the recipients include villagers from 94 longhouses, Malay and Chinese communities in Spaoh, as well as civil servants.

“Assisting the distribution of food aid to the rural folks were staffs from the Bukit Saban service centre and other helpers,” said Uggah, who is Bukit Saban assemblyman, in a statement.

Betong MP Datuk Robert Lawson Chuat represented Uggah at a symbolic ceremony to hand over the food aid for the Betong division.

The food aid were distributed in Saribas, Layar, Bukit Saban, Krian, Kalaka, Kabong, Beting Maro, Batang Lupar and Lingga constituencies. — DayakDaily
