Runaway pet albino python rescued in Senadin, Miri

MIRI, Jan 10 : A pet albino python was successfully rescued last night (Jan 9) after it escaped from its owner’s residence in Greenville Desa Senadin.

Firefighters from the Lutong Fire and Rescue Station were dispatched to the scene following an emergency call received at 8.29pm.

Upon arrival, the rescue team quickly located the reptile and began their operation to safely capture it. The 10 feet long python which weighs 30 kilogrammes, was caught using special snake catcher equipment.

The effort lasted approximately 20 minutes and concluded without incident.

According to reports by TVS, the python has been handed over to the Sarawak Forestry Department (SFC) for further action.

Authorities have emphasized the importance of securing enclosures, especially for exotic or high-risk pets, to prevent similar incidents in the future. — DayakDaily
