Rumah Jungan fire victims received aid worth RM283,299

KUCHING, Sept 26: Residents of 33-door Rumah Jungan, Batu 36 of Selangau who lost their homes due to a recent fire received assistance amounting to RM283,299.

According to a report by Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas), Community Wellbeing Development Deputy Minister Mohamad Razi Sitam presented the assistance to the victims in a ceremony held at Selangau District Office on Saturday (Sept 24).

Meanwhile, early disaster aid was also distributed on the same day to victims such as dry food aid amounting to RM11,500, bottled milk, diapers and sanitary pads aid worth RM5,299 and bedding and kitchen equipment worth RM40,300.


Also present were Tamin assemblyman Christopher Gira Sambang; political secretary to Premier, Edwin Banta; Sibu Divisional Social Welfare Officer Emilda; District Officer Inting Nyami and community leaders. — DayakDaily
