KUCHING, April 27: A man who was charged with raping two underaged nieces has contracted Covid-19.

The accused, 44, faces three charges in two cases under Section 376(1) of the Penal Code for raping his underaged nieces.

The case was fixed for ruling today before Sessions Court Judge Jason Juga.

However, the accused is currently undergoing treatment for Covid-19, therefore judge Jason fixed June 17 for the ruling.

In one of the cases, the accused faces two charges of raping a 13-year-old girl on July 2018 and August 12, 2018, at Kampung Batu Kitang.

In the second case, he was charged with raping a 12-year-old girl on February 2018 at Kampung Batu Kitang.

According to the facts of the cases, the victims’ mother lodged a police report after she overheard her two children talking about the accused performing indecent acts on them at their home located at Kampung Batu Kitang on Aug 12, 2018.

According to their conversation, the incidents happened several times before but the victims did not dare to tell their mother as the accused had allegedly threatened them.

The accused was arrested by police on November 5, 2018, at about 12.45am at his house at Kampung Batu Kitang. — DayakDaily
