For the past three years since opening her own café, 52-year-old culinary expert Royati Rosli has ensured her signature, delectable Sup Daging (beef soup) consistently attracts regular customers.
The aroma of her well-guarded beef broth recipe, wafting from her soup pot, entices soup lovers, drawing them to her eatery in the heart of Kota Sentosa and making it one of the town’s top attractions.
Royati revealed that the broth has attracted people from all walks of life to her café, which she also co-owns with her husband.

“He plays a significant culinary role, ensuring the delectable broth dish is always mouth-watering and can be served on its own or with rice.”
“I give him credit because he acts as a quality controller, ensuring it suits everyone’s palate. We can’t compromise on it; it’s one of our signature dishes, and we’ve served it for many years, even before we moved to the eatery three years ago,” she told Dayak Daily.
To further ensure that the aroma continues to fill the café atmosphere, they placed a huge broth pot at the café entrance, which has become both a point of attraction and a symbol of their culinary authenticity.
“We want to ensure that the broth’s aromatic presence is not just about the smell and taste, but also a visual element to enhance our customers’ dining experience,” she added.

Royati further explained that their beef broth has a nostalgic taste because they not only fused it with their well-guarded recipe but also used basic ingredients to deliver an authentic palate that reminds people of their heritage each time they savour it.
“Receiving compliments from our patrons really makes our day, and this is what keeps me going and makes me love the profession,” she said with a smile.
Besides her signature beef broth, she also prepares other delectable Malay-style fusion dishes made with fresh meat, seafood, and vegetables.
“As a café, we offer not only savoury dishes but also a variety of noodle dishes to provide customers with choices for breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snacks,” she added.

To accommodate the increased customer influx, Royati has brought in family members to assist with various kitchen duties, effectively reducing the workload.
“Our café is home to a group of promising young culinary talents, and I am pleased that the establishment has evolved into a family culinary institution that promotes both camaraderie and our expertise in local cuisine. Their ability to maintain the flavours that keep customers returning has been quite remarkable.”
Royati said she and her husband are pleased that her eldest daughter is a trained culinary connoisseur, has her own stall at another eatery, and is doing well.
“We are confident that our family will carry on our culinary legacy, as we deeply value this profession. We aspire for her to establish her own unique culinary style that our customers will also love,” she said.
