KUCHING, Sept 9: His Majesty Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin al-Mustafa Billah Shah and Queen Agong Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah continued their ‘Kembara Kenali Borneo’ tour in Miri by visiting Coco Cabana today.
According to a news report from Sarawak Public Communication Unit (Ukas) today, they started their journey from the Miri Handicraft Centre at 3.05pm and arrived at Coco Cabana at 3.44pm.
The arrival of His Majesty’s entourage together with Regent Crown Prince of Pahang Tengku Hassanal Ibrahim Alam Shah Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin al-Mustafa Billah Shah was welcomed by Minister of Tourism, Arts, and Culture Malaysia Dato Seri Tiong King Sing, and Minister of Tourism, Creative Industry, and Performing Arts Sarawak, Dato Sri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah and his wife Datin Sri Zuraini Abdul Jabbar.
His Majesty and the Queen signed the ‘Kembara Kenali Borneo’ plaque and the symbolic batik Linut before proceeding to the ‘Majlis Santap Diraja’.
At the ceremony, they were also treated to various performances, including a traditional dance performance by GahRentak Group, a Chinese dance performance by Unity Dance Academy Students, a ‘pampat’ drum performance, and a sape performance by Garry Sudom Raymond.
After the ceremony, they continued their visit to the Batik Linut demonstration area and handicraft stalls before leaving for Kampung Pangkalan Lutong at 4.33pm.
Earlier, the royal couple’s entourage arrived at the Sungai Tujuh Miri Immigration, Customs and Quarantine Border Control Post (ICQS) at 12.12pm before continuing to the Miri Handicraft Center and arriving at 2.20pm. — DayakDaily
