KUCHING, Aug 21: Temporary roll-on roll-off (RoRo) containers are available at Tabuan Laru and BDC Recycling Centres for the public’s waste disposal usage at Kuching South City Council (MBKS) areas.

Its mayor Dato Wee Hong Seng said this latest placement of RoRo containers, which was updated as of Aug 20, is aimed at getting members of the public to be considerate with Trienekens’ inconsistent waste collection services lately due to being affected by Covid-19.

He said some locations or houses might have been missed on some days, but Trienekens (Sarawak) Sdn Bhd has been battling hard with the virus when its employees could not report to work either due to quarantine orders or lockdowns.

“There are over 50 employees in Trienekens. The problem is that some of them either tested positive for Covid-19 and were subsequently quarantined, or their homes were placed under lockdown.

“Under this situation, Trienekens had to dispatch employees from other regions and these temporary workers may not be as fully informed of the usual (waste pickup) routes, so some houses might have been missed.

“I wish to apologise on behalf of Trienekens, but I also ask for everyone’s understanding as the company is trying its best in delivering their services as well,” said Wee during his Facebook live session today.

On another note, he pointed out that Trienekens has its own ‘Trienekens Customer Care’ mobile app where individuals can lodge complaints or give feedback regarding the services provided.

Instead of posting on social media, members of the public are welcome to speak out through official channels so the company may improve its services.

Other than MBKS, RoRo containers are also accessible for Kuching North City Commission (DBKU) residents at Lorong C, Dewan Kampung Tunku, Kampung Muara Tebas Bin Centre, Jalan Temenggong Hj Gobil, Lorong 5 Dewan Jln Temenggong Hj Gobil, Pondok KRT Semariang Aman, and Avenue 6 Boulevard, Metrocity.

For areas under Padawan Municipal Council (MPP), the temporary waste containers are currently placed at Taman Malihah Jalan Belatok 7, Balai Raya Desa Wira, Lorong 20, Batu Kawa New Bazaar, and Lee Ling Temporary Hawker Centre. — DayakDaily
