KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 21: The fuel prices for RON97 and RON95 for the period of August 22 to 28 will be adjusted upward by three sen a litre.
However, diesel price is reduced by two sen a litre for the same period.
According to the Finance Ministry in a press statement, the weekly setting of the retail price for petroleum products for that period follows the automatic pricing mechanism (APM).
Hence, the ministry said the retail prices for RON97 and RON95 were increased to reflect the changes.
It revealed that the price for RON97 will be increased by three sen to RM2.01 per litre while the price for RON95 will be adjusted upward by three sen to RM1.71 a litre.
The Finance Ministry added diesel price for August 22 to 28 will be lowered by two sen to RM1.80 a litre.
It asserted that the federal government is closely monitoring the effect of the changes in crude oil price and taking appropriate measures to ensure that the welfare of the people is taken care of. —DayakDaily
