KUCHING, Aug 6: Jalan McDougall and Jalan Tun Abang Haji Openg will be partially closed from Aug 6 to 19 to facilitate canopy installation and site preparations for the Kuching Street Parade 2025, which is set to take place on Saturday, Aug 16.
In a notice issued by Kuching North City Hall (DBKU), road users are advised to plan ahead and use alternative routes during the closure period to avoid congestion.
The road closures will be implemented in phases. Site preparation works will take place from Wednesday, Aug 6 to Monday, Aug 11. Rehearsals will be held from Tuesday, Aug 12 to Friday, Aug 15. The main event will be held on Saturday, Aug 16, followed by site dismantling and maintenance from Sunday, Aug 17 to Tuesday, Aug 19.
The affected stretch includes parts of Jalan McDougall and Jalan Tun Abang Haji Openg, as highlighted in the enclosed map.
