KUCHING, July 20: The roads around Lasar Kenyalang in Bintulu will be temporarily closed on July 22 from 5 am until midnight for the Sarawak Day 2024 celebration.
Bintulu police chief Supt Nixon Joshua Ali stated today that the road closures will be in effect from Jalan Abang Galau to the traffic light junction at Jalan Paragon.
“This includes the road from the Public Works Department (JKR) traffic light junction heading toward Paragon (Jalan Sultan Iskandar) and Jalan Tun Razak (right side of the old Bintulu airport site) until the traffic light junction heading towards Parkcity,” he said.
He also advised the public to plan their journeys ahead and use alternative routes for any activities in the town area.
Nixon also reminded that drone flying is prohibited during the celebration without permission from the authorities.
He said those who wish to operate drones must obtain approval from the Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia (CAAM).
“Members of the public who are attending the event are also advised to follow the instructions of police personnel on the ground to ensure the smoothness of the event,” he added. — DayakDaily
