RM92.5 mln Integrated Village Expansion Scheme in Matang-Gita-Sg Maong to offer 330 residential lots

KUCHING, Nov 27: The proposed Integrated Village Expansion Scheme (SPKB) covering Matang (10th Mile), Gita, and Sungai Maong (Kuching), including the Sungai Cabik Matang area, is estimated to require an allocation of RM92.5 million for infrastructure and land acquisition costs.

Answering the query by Tupong assemblyman Dato Fazzrudin Abdul Rahman, Deputy Minister for Urban Planning, Land Administration and Environment Datuk Len Talif Salleh said that the scheme is expected to yield 330 residential lots upon full implementation.

“The site, which covers an area of approximately 32.9 hectares or 81.3 acres was approved by the State Planning Authority on July 6, 2015,” said Len Talif during the question-and-answer session on the fourth day of the Sarawak Legislative Assembly (DUS) sitting today.

Len Talif, who is also Kuala Rajang assemblyman, elaborated that during the first phase of the implementation which covers approximately 11.33 hectares (28 acres) is projected to provide 112 residential lots.

When asked about the other components within the SPKB, Len Talif said the scheme will also cater to essential community needs.

“The SPKB will provide components such as open spaces, government reserves and places of worship,” he said.

On the matter of funding, Len Talif shared that the request for allocation to execute the project will be resubmitted under the 13th Malaysia Plan (13MP). — DayakDaily
