RM850k allocated for Rural Transformation Programme in Kota Sentosa

KUCHING, Nov 16: Kota Sentosa assemblyman Wilfred Yap witnessed the official handing over of the letter of awards by Padawan Municipal Council (MPP) to four contractors of the four Rural Transformation Programmes (RTP) in his constituency worth RM850,000.

In the statement, Yap disclosed that out of RM850,000, the sum of RM200,000 was approved for Taman Rekreasi Olive Garden, Batu Tujuh, RM100,000 for Lorong 7 (Semaba Park) and RM50,000 for Lorong Jalan Semaba 2B2, and RM500,000 for Kota Sentosa Town Square.

He stated the grant is for the upgrading works to be implemented by MPP.


“The upgrading works for the four projects are all scheduled for completion by the first half of 2024,” he added.

During the handover ceremony, Yap requested the appointed implementing agency, MPP, to closely monitor and supervise the construction works to ensure that they are completed on schedule and with quality finishing.

“This is to ensure the upgrading works can be delivered on time for the benefit of the public,” he elaborated.

Yap stressed that the recreation parks and Kota Sentosa Town Square provide a conducive venue for the public to congregate, organise social activities and events, and provide active recreation opportunities for all ages.

“In general, this will contribute towards improving the quality of life for the local communities, as well as improving property values for the area.”

Yap said that he remains committed to securing more state development funding for improving systematically and upgrading progressively all the neglected infrastructure.

“This is to uplift the living standard and improve the quality of life of all the communities living in his Kota Sentosa constituency.

“I will do my part to strive for more development funds from the government. and I hoped that two-term Stampin MP Chong Chieng Jen would do the same,” he said.

MPP chairman Tan Kai and community leader Penghulu Lai Boon Khee were also present at the event. — DayakDaily
