RM8,000 in drugs and cash seized during Bintangor drug raid

BINTANGOR, June 15: Police arrested an unemployed man here for alleged drug possession after finding nearly RM8,000 worth of drugs and cash during a raid.

According to Bintangor District police chief, DSP Sekam Anoi, the drugs and money were discovered during a police raid on a house at Jalan Sekolah at about 1.50pm yesterday.

“The team found and seized 30.77 grammes of methamphetamin (syabu) which was placed inside a bag and another 29 pills of Nimetazepam (Erimin 5),” he revealed.


The drugs were estimated to be worth RM4,000. Also seized was RM3,969.

Sekam also revealed the 47-year-old suspect tested positive for methamphetamin. The suspect also has a history of drug abuse

The case is being investigated under Section 39A(2) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 which provides a life sentence and not less than 10 strokes of the cane upon conviction.

The suspect will be remanded for further investigation for drug trafficking. ā€” DayakDaily
