MUKAH, Feb 15: A total of RM27,000 in cash was saved by firefighters from a burning house in Kampung Penakup Ulu in Mukah today.
Sarawak Fire and Rescue department (Bomba) operation center in a statement said that the incident occurred at 9.26 am, and firefighters from Bomba Mukah led by PBK I Rasit Morni was sent to the location.
“Operation commander reported that a semi-permanent structure was 100 per cent destroyed by flame.
“During the fire extinguishing operation, firefighters managed to save RM27,000 from a total of RM35,000 (estimated) that was kept in the house and was handed over to the owner,” the statement said.
No casualties was reported in the incident and firefighters are still investigating the total loss.
It was also understood that the house was occupied by two families with 14 people.—DayakDaily.
