“Under Rolling Plan 1, Year 2026, a total allocation of RM195.6 million will be disbursed with an increase of 53.17 per cent compared to 2025.

“Of this amount, RM172.4 million will come directly from the federal government, while RM23.24 million will be financed through loans,” he said when speaking at the PETRA Media Night 2025 Sarawak held at Pullman Hotel here last night (Oct 31).

Fadillah said the development focus will include flood mitigation, coastal erosion control, river conservation, water supply and sewerage projects.

He also added that Sarawak will benefit from the RM24.7 billion allocation for flood mitigation projects nationwide.

At the same time, a RM2.525 billion Non-Revenue Water (NRW) Programme will be implemented from 2025 to 2030 to upgrade pipelines and reduce water loss.

He said under Rolling Plan 5 (RP5) of the 12th Malaysia Plan, eight loan-funded water projects worth RM1.43 billion are underway in Sarawak, including the Landeh and Nyabau water treatment plants (WTP), the NRW Reduction Programme, and system repairs statewide.

Fadillah said these efforts will strengthen Sarawak’s water system and ensure reliable supply for the people. — DayakDaily
