KUCHING, Dec 3: The Sarawak Public Works Department (JKR) has been allocated a total of RM4.39 billion to implement 575 development projects under six regional agencies.
Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas said the projects include:
- 92 projects under the Integrated Regional Samarahan Development Agency (IRSDA) worth RM460.18 million
- 33 projects under the Sri Aman Development Agency (SADA) worth RM999.61 million
- 233 projects under the Betong Division Development Agency (BDDA) worth RM674.48 million
- 35 projects under the Rajang Delta Development Agency (RADDA) worth RM704.40 million
- 22 projects under the Mid-Rajang Regional Development Agency (MiRRDA) worth RM979.66 million
- 160 projects under the Greater Kuching Coordinated Development Agency (GKCDA) worth RM566.81 million
“The status of these projects is 138 projects have been completed, 110 are currently under construction, while the remaining 327 are at the pre-contract stage,” he said during his ministerial winding-up speech at the Legislative Assembly (DUS) sitting today.
Uggah said these initiatives play a crucial role in enhancing Statewide connectivity and accessibility.
These initiatives also support the objectives of the Post Covid-19 Development Strategy (PCDS) 2030, particularly in promoting inclusive growth and improving rural mobility. — DayakDaily
