KUCHING, Oct 15: National telco Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM) recently contributed RM3,560 from the conversion of 356,000 points from its TM Rewards members, to Persatuan Orang Cacat Bumiputera Sarawak.
The contribution was handed over by TM Sarawak general manager Jafer Sadig Abdul Lathiff.
“We would like to thank our loyal customers for their generosity and support towards this noble cause and we are happy to be able to provide a platform for our customers, together with TM, to make a difference for the community. We are excited that we can lend a helping hand to Persatuan Orang Cacat Bumiputera Sarawak to ease their burden.
“This programme is one of the many undertaken by TM and demonstrates our continued commitment in helping those in need not only in Sarawak, but nationwide,” said Jafer in a statement today.
TM has managed to collect RM337,659 through its “Donate Your Points” programme where Unifi customers nationwide can opt to convert their TM Reward points into donations.
For every 100 points, customers will have the option to convert the points into RM1 which will be donated to selected charity organisations.
The programme was introduced in November 2017, and to date TM has distributed RM280,705 to three charity organisations, namely United Nations Children’s Fund (Unicef Malaysia), Medical Relief Society Malaysia (MERCY Malaysia) and National Cancer Council Malaysia (MAKNA) while another RM53,394 have been disbursed to 15 other non-governmental organisations (NGOs) nationwide.
In 2011, TM Rewards was introduced to recognise and reward its loyal customers with great offers and privileges by rewarding them with points when bills are paid on time and for any spending on TM’s products and services which can be redeemed for bills, Hyppflicks / Video On Demand (VOD) vouchers or lifestyle items.
TM Rewards has 2 million registered members and a total of RM147 million worth of points have been issued to members.
