RM116K worth of drugs seized from 26-year-old businessman

MIRI, May 14: Miri Narcotic Crime Investigation Department on Wednesday afternoon arrested a 26-year-old businessman in Taman Jelita for his suspected involvement in drug trafficking, seizing drugs worth RM116,000 in his possession.

According to Miri police chief ACP Lim Meng Seah, 2kg of Methamphetamine and 800gm of ketamine were found inside three water thermoses in a parcel delivered to the suspect by a courier service around 1.30pm.


Lim added that the illegal substances were seized and discovered inside a parcel delivered to the suspect by courier service earlier prior to the arrest.

“Upon checking the parcel, police found the drugs stuffed inside three thermoses,” said Lim.

He added that preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect had been involved in four other drug-related crimes.

“The suspect has been tested positive for ketamine,” Lim said.

Also seized was a digital scale.

The suspect is currently being detained under police custody under Section 39B and Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.—DayakDaily
