KUCHING, Dec 7: A major milestone was achieved for the education community in Kapit and surrounding rural areas as the Kapit Tube Well Construction and Installation Project was handed over to 11 schools yesterday (Dec 6).
Works Minister Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi, who is also the Kapit MP, said the project provides thousands of students and teachers with safe, clean and reliable water, creating a healthier and more conducive learning environment.
“The project involves 11 schools with a total allocation of RM11,488,729.00. It includes the construction of complete infrastructure such as water storage tanks, pump houses and mechanical and electrical systems.
“As of today, seven schools are fully completed, while four schools are in the final stages of technical completion. The government has provided alternative solutions to ensure all schools benefit equally,” he said in a Facebook post.
