Rising flood water levels threatens Uma Beluvuh in Long Panai

KUCHING, Dec 20: Villagers of Uma Beluvuh in Long Panai are sounding the SOS as flood water levels surrounding their home continue to rise for the second day straight.

According to its Village Security and Development Committee (JKKK) secretary Laing Ngau in a statement today, water began to flood the village and nearby areas since yesterday.

“Appropriate assistance for the villagers and victims affected by the flood is needed,” he said.

Laing added, currently, the flood level has reached a height of about two to three feet, and the water level continues to rise without showing any signs of receding. — DayakDaily
