“The Sarawak government has provided an old building, over 90 years old, on Jalan Budaya, which has been undergoing renovations for the past eight months.

“It is slated for completion by January next year to serve as the RISEAP headquarters in Kuching,” he said, as reported by TVS.

Abdul Rahman, who is also Deputy Minister in the Sarawak Premier’s Department (Project Coordinator for Regional Development Agencies, DBKU, and Islamic Affairs),  added that the building will feature 24 flagpoles representing RISEAP member countries and is expected to become a point of interest for the public and visitors.

Regarding Timor-Leste’s potential involvement, Abdul Rahman said the matter was not discussed in detail during the meeting.

“The Secretary-General mentioned it, but it was not explored in depth. It may still be under further discussion and could be addressed at the next meeting, including an official written application from Timor-Leste,” he explained. — DayakDaily
