Riot: Suspension bridge in Kampung Hulu, Serian completed

KUCHING, Aug 12: The completion of a suspension bridge worth RM294,285 in Kampung Hulu, Serian is set to help improve connectivity for local residents.

According to MP Dato Sri Dr Richard Riot Jaem, prior to the construction of the bridge, there was a report of an incident where a villager lost their life trying to cross the river.

ā€œSo when the village head requested for the construction of the bridge, we approved it immediately.

ā€œToday we can all see that this suspension bridge would help to expedite the villagers’ commute as they go about their daily activities, especially for residents of Kampung Hulu Serian,ā€ he told reporters when officiating at the launch of the new suspension bridge today.

Riot also thanked the Sarawak government for providing the allocation to construct the bridge.
