Rh Emperan resident’s forearm pierced by iron rod in fishing mishap

SARIKEI, Feb 4: Firefighters were called in to cut a sharpened iron rod that pierced through a 54-year-old man’s forearm today.

Sarikei fire station chief PPgB Mahmudin Narudin disclosed they received a call at 2.23pm from Sarikei Hospital medical personel seeking their assistance to help the victim from Sg Pinang, Pakan.

“The victim from Rh Emperan said he was carrying out his usual fishing activities when he slipped and the iron rod pierced through his arm.

Seen is the iron rod which pierced through the man’s arm.

“With great care, firefighters successfully cut part of the iron rod to enable medical officers remove the whole piece.”

It took three firefighters about 30 minutes to help the victim before the latter was handed back to medical officers for further treatment.

It was reported that the victim is in stable condition. — DayakDaily
