KUCHING, Dec 21: A retiree claimed trial to a charge of assaulting a female patient by touching her breast in the toilet of a hospital.
The accused, 62, pleaded not guilty to the charge framed under Section 354 of the Penal Code.
Magistrate Syarifah Fatimah Azura Wan Ali fixed January 25, 2022 for mention of the case and allowed the accused to be released on RM5,000 bail with one local surety.
The accused was charged with assaulting the 26-year-old female patient in the toilet of a hospital, at about 9.30am on December 13, 2021.
The victim was seeking treatment at the hospital and she was frightened by the act of the accused. A police report was made days later after the incident.
The accused was at the hospital for a checkup.
