SARATOK, March 12: A search and rescue (SAR) operation has been mounted for a missing 78-year-old man who is believed to have dementia.
According to a press release, the Saratok Fire and Rescue Station (Bomba) received a call at 10.14am today about a missing man from Rumah Inggam Sungai Nyiar Roban in Saratok.
Based on information obtained from the police, the victim left his house at around 11.30am yesterday (March 11).
“Family members tried to locate the man, but to no avail, and based on their information, the victim is believed to have dementia.”
The operations commander reported that the SAR was conducted at 10.42am within a radius of 1km from the victim’s last known location, which was around the main road from the longhouse.
The victim, known as Lakui Mapan, was last seen wearing a red shirt and blue shorts.
Three personnel from the police force and 20 villagers will join the operation. — DayakDaily
