The team prepared essential rescue equipment, including portable oxygen, an automated external defibrillator (AED), and a stretcher, to transport the victim, aged 47, safely to the park headquarters.

“The journey from Camp 5 to the park headquarters is arduous, involving a one-hour boat ride from Mulu to Kuala Litut followed by a 9-kilometer trek on foot, taking an estimated 4–5 hours for those in good health.

“At the same time, the Bomba’s Operations Centre (PGO) has requested a helicopter for airlifting the victim. It is scheduled to fly tomorrow (Dec 9),” the report said.

The MOCSAR team, consisting of six personnel supported by a longboat, is collaborating with four BORSAR members stationed in Mulu.

The victim will be transported to Mulu Health Clinic for further treatment upon evacuation. — DayakDaily
