Repair works at Jalan Tun Razak-Jalan Foochow traffic junction to be completed in November

KUCHING, Aug 29: Motorists are advised to be extra cautious when approaching the Jalan Tun Razak-Jalan Foochow traffic junction over the next several months as major repair works have begun. According to Public Works Department (JKR) Sarawak in a press release today, the repair works which started on Aug 8 is scheduled to be completed by November this year.

The federal government funded project is at stage one at the moment and involves milling and resurfacing works at various locations including concrete pavement with physical progress at 30 per cent.


Significant works will be carried out day and night within the construction zone in order to complete the project on time.

However, JKR Sarawak highlighted that work progress may be affected and slowed down due to limited working area with live and heavy traffic volume as well as hindrances caused by underground utility cables during excavation.

They gave assurance that an intervention plan has been put in place including traffic management with assistance from the traffic police to control traffic flow at peak hours in the morning and afternoon.

JKR Sarawak advised all road users to be cautious when travelling along Jalan Tun Razak during the construction period and to adhere to traffic warning signs on site.

Road users are also encouraged to use alternative routes which are more convenient during the construction period. ā€” DayakDaily
