KUCHING, Nov 20: A total of RM1.9 million has been spent in Batu Kitang constituency including the upgrading of Seventh-Day Adventist Church and the Sacred Heart Church in Kampung Semeba.
This is revealed by Batu Kitang assemblyman Lo Khere Chiang during a press conference held after the handing over of the completed “Baruk” project under Rural Transformation Project (RTP) at SMK Sacred Heart, in Kampung Semeba, today.
According to Lo, all of it was made possible by the Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) under the leadership of the Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg, to alleviate and improve the livelihood of the local community.
“About RM1.9 million worth of projects has been spent in Kampung Semeba up till today, involving road, drainage and many other projects that benefit the local community,” he said.
At the same time, Lo also allocated a sum of RM100,000 for the building of a pre-school in Kampung Semeba that will be implemented in 2021.
He said the plan for the pre-school is ready and willing to add more to the allocation if the funds are insufficient.
Apart from that, five families in Kampung Semeba, out of the total 80 houses in Batu Kitang constituency, has benefited from the RM1 million allocation given by the Chief Minister to every constituency, involving repairing a roof, faulty toilet and kitchen area and many others.
“I foresee, in the next five years, there will be no houses with leaking roofs in N13 Batu Kitang and everybody will have a good roof over their heads,” he added.
Among the completed projects in Kampung Semeba are the upgrading project the SDA Church (RM250,000), the Sacred Heart Church (RM50,000), roads and drainage repairs (RM150,000), including the upgrading of football and futsal fields. –DayakDaily.
