The boy, a registered person with disabilities (OKU), was found conscious and in stable condition, having sustained only minor injuries.

Members of the Emergency Medical Rescue Services (EMRS) unit immediately provided medical treatment at the scene.

The child was reported missing on Wednesday (Feb 4) after family members realised he was no longer in the living room of their home at around 1.30pm. Initial searches around the house were unsuccessful, prompting a report to the authorities later that evening.

Bomba Bau received the emergency call at 6.15pm on the same day and immediately mobilised a response.

On the first full day of the SAR operation today, search teams conducted sweeps within a three-kilometre radius from the location where the boy’s trousers and slippers were discovered near a waterfall, approximately two kilometres from his residence.

The search effort was further reinforced with the deployment of a K9 unit from the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM).

At about 1pm, Opar assemblyman Billy Sujang visited the operation site, where he was briefed on the progress of the SAR mission by representatives from the Bau district police.

The SAR operation was officially concluded at 3.30pm, with all personnel returning to their respective stations. — DayakDaily
