BINTULU, Nov 25: A 43-year-old man who was reported missing after he was not seen for a few hours is home safe.

The Sarawak Fire and Rescue department (Bomba) operations centre in a statement revealed Sulau Jupok had gone swimming with his son at Sungai Plan here yesterday.

After their swim, his son decided to return home earlier while Sulau stayed on.

By 7pm, Sulau’s family started to worry as he was nowhere to be seen, prompting them to lodge a missing person’s report.

Firefighters led by PBK II Stephen Plan from the Bintulu station were dispatched to the scene upon receiving the distress call at 9.59pm.

They decided to conduct a preliminary search and rescue (SAR) along the river while on their way to Sulau’s house but did not locate the man.

However, upon arrival at the man’s house, they found out that Sulau had safely reached home. — DayakDaily
