KUCHING, May 9: The Sarawak United Peoples’ Party (SUPP) Stakan Branch urged Sarawakians to remain vigilant against political narratives that prioritise Peninsular Malaysia’s interests over those of the state.
In a statement, SUPP Stakan chairman Dato Sim Kiang Chiok pointed out that recent actions by Malayan-based parties, particularly the Democratic Action Party (DAP) and Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR), have raised concerns about their commitment to Sarawak’s autonomy and development.
“We ask DAP and PKR in Sarawak to become like the opposition in Singapore that defended their land,” he said.
Sim emphasised that Sarawak is for all Sarawakians, and any opposition must serve the people of the State rather than external interests.
“Tok Nan once said he could not ban Malayan parties because they were still represented in the State Legislative Assembly (DUN).
“As such, let’s all be loyal Sarawakians and be rid of Malayan influence in Sarawak once and for all in the coming Sarawak and Malaysian General elections,” Sim urged. – DayakDaily
