KUCHING, Oct 17: Registration for the Kenyalang Gold Card (KGC) and Senior Citizen Health Benefit (SCHB) programmes will be open on Oct 19 and 20 at Dewan Sa’ati of the Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) headquarters in Kuching on Jalan Tan Sri Ong Kee Hui from 9am to 5pm.
In a news report by the Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas), SUPP Batu Lintang chairman Sih Hua Tong announced that this is a special initiative jointly organised by six of the party’s main branches in Kuching.
“This programme is organised in collaboration with six key branches in Kuching, namely Padungan, Pending, Batu Lintang, Kota Sentosa, Batu Kitang, and Batu Kawah,” he said.
Speaking on behalf of SUPP Secretary-General, Datuk Sebastian Ting Chiew Yew, Sih said that previous applicants should first check their records and status within the stipulated timeframe.
“If their names are in the system, they can come to request the card to be printed on the spot.
“This will save them a lot of time and energy from having to visit multiple departments to check the status of their Kenyalang Gold Card,” he explained.
Sih made these remarks during a press conference held at SUPP Headquarters here today.
He also revealed that the KGC application may be submitted online through www.1supp.org.my before the two-day programme launch.
“Successful applicants will be awarded RM500 for health and medical benefits this year,” he added.
Furthermore, Sih clarified that the application is open to all senior citizens, with no restrictions on the number of applicants.
In addition, senior citizens aged 60 and above, with an income of RM7,000 or less, and holding either a K-status or red identification card, are highly encouraged to apply. — DayakDaily
