KUCHING, May 29: Taiyo Yuden (Sarawak) Sdn Bhd has registered 128 positive Covid-19 cases as of yesterday.
Due to the high number of cases, the company has responsibly shut down its operation for 14 days.
According to the company’s memorandum, during the closure period of the operations, shutdown maintenance works are allowed to be carried out while employees are required to work from home during work schedule.
Employees may also be called back to work should there be request from their superior.
Taiyo Yuden Sarawak which is located at Samajaya Industrial Park is not the only company affected by the recent surge of Covid-19 cases in Kuching.
Apart from Taiyo Yuden, tHe Spring was also hard hit by Covid-19, forcing the mall to close down temporarily for two weeks.
Meanwhile, Sarawak today registers a total number of 726 new Covid-19 cases while Malaysia sets a new record high of 9,020 new positive cases.
Within Malaysia, Selangor tops the list with 2,836 new cases, to be followed by Kelantan 907 cases, Negeri Sembilan 898 cases, and Sarawak, 726 cases. — DayakDaily
