KUCHING, Sept 4: The proprietor of a foot reflexology centre was sentenced to a fine of RM1,500 or in default to two months in jail by the Magistrate’s Court today for inflicting injuries on two China masseurs.
Lee Kin Non, 69, pleaded guilty before Magistrate Mason Jaro Lenya Barayan to the charge brought against him under Section 323 of the Penal Code, which carries penalties of imprisonment for up to one year, or a fine up to RM2,000, or both if found guilty.
The incident in question occurred at a foot reflexology centre in Padungan, at about 11.30am on August 28, 2023.
According to the brief facts of the case, a dispute arose between one of the masseurs and the accused leading to the latter kicking the masseur in the waist.
Witnessing this, the second masseur confronted the accused and in response, the accused struck the second masseur on her right arm.
Both victims sustained injuries and received treatment at Sarawak General Hospital.
It is believed that the altercation happened as the first masseur, who was also reportedly Lee’s mistress, was entrusted with managing the reflexology centre but had allegedly had a sexual relationship with another man.
The prosecution was conducted by Prosecuting Officer Inspector Merylene Lindan Andrew Mang, while Lee was not represented by legal counsel. — DayakDaily
