SIBU, Jan 16: A staff of a recycling shop near Bukit Lima Cemetery was shocked after finding a left human foot.

According to Acting Sibu District Police Chief, Superintendent Dr Collin Babat, the man had stumbled across the foot when he reported for work at around 8am.

After receiving the man’s report which was lodged at the Lanang Police station, police personnel from the station and Criminal Investigation Department rushed to the scene.

“K9 dogs were brought to the scene and they found a plastic bag that is usually used by the hospital to contain waste found in the cemetery,” he said.

Collin said the foot is believed to have been kept in a plastic bag and was buried at the Bukit Lima Cemetery but subsequently was dug up by a stray dog which dragged it to the location where it was discovered.

He said Sibu Hospital later confirmed that the leg belonged to a diabetic patient who had undergone amputation surgery recently.

“We have handed the foot back to the hospital for further action,” he added. — DayakDaily
