SIBU, April 7: Sibu Municipal Council (SMC) has cancelled the Ramadhan Bazaar at Dataran Tun Tuanku Phase 2 in view of the rising number of Covid-19 cases there.

Chairman Clarence Ting in a statement today said applicants who had registered for the Bazaar will not be able to operate at the location as originally stated.

Instead, new and existing operators who operate in front of their homes will be allowed to open.

Ting reminded the traders to put up their respective MySejahtera QR codes to be scanned by visitors in front of their stall for contact tracing purposes.

Meanwhile, Sibu Division Disaster Management Committee coordinator Dr Annuar Rapaee said in his Sibu Covid-19 daily update via Facebook Live today that the Ramadhan Bazaar at Pelangi Food Kiosk in Kampung Nangka and Bandung Walk will proceed as approved earlier.

The bazaar will be held from April 12 to May 12 under strict adherence to standard operating procedures. ā€” DayakDaily
