Queen arrives in Kuching for four-day visit

KUCHING, July 4: Raja Permaisuri Agong Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah arrived safely at Kuching International Airport (KIA) today for a four-day visit to Sarawak.

According to a news report by Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas), the special aircraft carrying the Queen landed at about 12pm.

Her Majesty was warmly welcomed by the Premier’s wife, Puan Sri Datuk Amar Juma’ani Tun Tuanku Bujang who was accompanied by Minister of Women, Childhood and Community Well Being Development Dato Sri Fatimah Abdullah.

The Queen is expected to visit Heritage Technology and Gastronomy Academy of Centre of Technical Excellence (Centexs) this afternoon, followed by an official banquet on board the Sarawak River Cruise.

Tomorrow (July 5), Her Majesty is scheduled to attend the 13th Associated Country Women of the World (ACWW) Area Conference for Southeast Asia and the Far East at Grand Margherita Hotel before proceeding to visit The Brooke Gallery at Fort Margherita and attend an International Night dinner programme in the evening.

On Wednesday (July 6), Her Majesty will have a private session before departing for home on Thursday. — DayakDaily
