KUCHING, March 15: A 77-year-old quarry manager died of serious head injuries after he was involved in a head-on collision at Jalan Batu Kitang, Padawan around 9.50am today.
Sarawak Traffic Investigation and Enforcement chief Supt Alexson Naga Chabu said the deceased was from Bau.
“Initial investigations revealed that he was driving from Kota Sentosa to Bau when he suddenly entered the opposite lane and experienced a head-on collision with a cement mixer truck.
“The deceased who was driving a 4WD was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics from Sarawak General Hospital while the 62-year-old truck driver escaped injuries,” Alexson said in a statement.
The body of the deceased has since been transferred to a mortuary.
The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987. — DayakDaily
