KUCHING, May 8: A patient under investigation (PUI) who had just returned to Sarawak had been acting strangely since he was sent to a quarantine center on May 2 for two weeks.
The 24-year-old patient who returned to Kuching from Kuala Lumpur had reportedly set fire to a bottle of hand sanitizer at the lobby of the quarantine center at 9.15 am on May 7. The fire was put out before it spread.
According to one of the hotel staff, the patient had been acting strangely since the day he was quarantined and had been wandering around the hotel and breaking items in the room.
Ministry of Health and the police had been alerted by the center about this patient and officers were sent to the center after the patient burned the bottle of sanitizer.
The patient is believed to have mental issues and was later brought to Sarawak General Hospital for quarantine and treatment at the same time. āDayakDaily
