KUCHING, March 26: Bintulu MP Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing is urging Sarawakians who had close contact with novel coronavirus (Covid-19) patients to get tested at the nearest hospital.

Following the news that a well-known nasi lemak seller in Bintulu has tested positive for Covid-19, he appealed to the public who has had close contact with the seller to undergo the Covid-19 fever triage for the sake of family members and friends.

“Sarawakians, let’s play our part to help the authorities to stop the Covid-19 pandemic and get our lives back to normal.

“All of us during this critical period need to cooperate and get tested if you have come into contact with confirmed patients.

“Go to the hospital, and get tested.

“Do it for the sake of our families and friends and let’s not be complacent,” Tiong who is also Progressive Democratic Party (PDP) president asserted in a statement.

He urged the nasi lemak’s fellow residents, customers, neighbours, friends and family members to get tested and self-isolate for at least 14 days.

Additionally, he requested workers at the Tanjung Kidurong industrial area such as from Malaysia LNG Sdn Bhd and Asian Bintulu Fertilizer Sdn Bhd to undergo Covid-19 testing, especially those who frequented the nasi lemak stall.

According to Tiong, the Covid-19 pandemic situation in Malaysia is worsening and the public naturally feels anxious, stressed and panicked. However, he urged Sarawakians to keep calm and adhere to the government’s advice and directives.

At the same time, Tiong also appealed to Sarawkians to stay at home and not spread fake or unverified information. — DayakDaily
