KUCHING, May 24: All public transport services are allowed to continue their operations during Sarawak’s tighter Conditional Movement Order (CMCO) period, but with 50 per cent passenger capacity only.

State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) said the public transport services include stop buses, express buses, ferries, planes, taxis and e-hailing.

This latest SOP shall be effective starting tomorrow (May 25) until June 7.

As for the operating hours of these services, SDMC said it is based on the time set by the Sarawak State Transport Ministry.

Meanwhile, SOPs for other sectors in the transportation industry remained the same whereby all airports, ports services and activities are permitted.

Interstate and interzone travels remained prohibited except for essential services and with police permits.

The maximum number of passengers in a private vehicle was also fixed at three persons only while children below 12 years old are not allowed to be at public, open and crowded places with valid reasons. — DayakDaily
