Meanwhile, Wee said MBKS would also be signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Sunway Education Group Sdn Bhd on Sustainable Development Goals (SDG).

He said MBKS’ Stutong Market would be improved through the implementations of water harvesting and composting in collaboration with Sunway.

“MBKS is proud to announce the upcoming Kuching Car-Free Morning on Sunday, May 14, which is also Mother’s Day. This global initiative encourages individuals to leave their cars at home and explore alternative modes of transportation.

“By doing so, we are reducing traffic congestion, air pollution, and greehouse gas emissions, which are all significant challenges faced by our cities today,” said Wee during a press conference at MBKS headquarters here today.

Also present at the press conference were MBKS deputy mayor Hilmy Othman, councilor Chai Ju Loon, Kuching Car-Free Morning organising chairperson Theresa Peter, and acting city secretary Zainab Marzali. — DayakDaily
