KUCHING, Mar 6: Members of the public residing under Kuching South City Council (MBKS) jurisdiction have been encouraged to utilise the council’s app, IPeople App for complaints, raising local issues or submitting requests to the council.

MBKS councillor Bong Lian Huan during a live streaming on MBKS mayor Facebook page today appealed to the public to make use of the app which was introduced in May 2018.

“We encourage the people to use the IPeople’s App. The iPeople’s App has not received wide participation.

“According to statistics, there are just five or six cases (of complaint) a day,” he said during MBKS mayor Datuk Wee Hong Seng’s live streaming entitled ‘Shall Wee Talk’ today.

Although he noted that the public can inform the councillor or the council of their complaints and requests, Bong noted the App can also provide another means of communication between the people and the council.

Thus, he encouraged the public to make full use of the digital services through their smartphones rather than relying on traditional methods to address their complaints and issues to the local council.

Among those who joined the live streaming were councillor Kho Teck Wan, councillor Mok Chuang Ping and councillor Goh Tze Hui. — DayakDaily
