KUCHING, March 14: Parti Sarawak Bersatu (PSB) has announced two additional candidates for the upcoming Sarawak 12th state election due in 2021.

Its president Datuk Seri Wong Soon Koh said the party is fielding Datuk Wan Abdillah Edruce Wan Abdul Rahman, the grandson of Sarawak’s second Yang di-Pertua Negeri, Tun Tuanku Bujang Tuanku Othman, to contest in the Lingga constituency.

Also announced was Wilson Entabang, the former state Agriculture deputy director, who will stand in Simanggang.

“As you know, Datuk Wan Abdillah is a charitable person and well-connected with a lot of people on the ground. Therefore, we have chosen him for the candidate for Lingga,” Wong told a press conference at PSB headquarters here today.

Earlier, secretary-general George Lo told reporters that PSB was planning to launch PSB branches in Lingga and Simanggang.

Lo said the event managed to attract more than 1,000 people and party members from the two constituencies.

However, as a result of the directive from the State Disaster Management Committee yesterday to postpone gathering of more than 250 people, he said the launching of the PSB branches in Simanggang and Lingga, as well as other constituencies, will have to be cancelled at this juncture.

Lo added that PSB has planned for another function at Kakus constituency tomorrow but decided to postpone it at the moment. PSB also scheduled to have events at Batu Danau and Pelagus constituencies.

He said PSB was eyeing to contest 70 out of 82 seats in the upcoming state election.

PSB will contest in the remaining 12 seats if the party is able to find qualified candidates, he added. — DayakDaily
