Proton issues public apology for mislabelling Sarawak, Sabah during EV presentation

KUCHING, June 13: National automotive manufacturer, Proton Holdings Berhad issued a public apology on their Facebook page for mislabelling Sarawak and Sabah.

Proton, in a Facebook post, expressed its deepest apologies and acknowledged its mistake following its first electric vehicle (EV) presentation yesterday (June 12).

“We deeply regret this mistake and understand the sensitivities it has stirred among our fellow Malaysians,” the statement read.

Proton said it holds the unity and diversity of Malaysia in the highest regard and is committed to respecting and celebrating all states equally.
