Progress of new Lawas Bridge project at 62.6 pct, slated for completion by Q4 2026

KUCHING, Aug 24: Progress on the new Lawas Bridge project is currently at 62.6 per cent and is on track for completion by the fourth quarter of 2026.

According to a media release by the Regional Corridor Development Authority (RECODA), this followed a visit to the project site by Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan, who is also the chairman of the Northern Region Development Agency (NRDA).

He was accompanied by RECODA chief executive officer Datuk Ismawi Ismuni and NRDA regional director Datu Ubaidillah Abdul Latip.

In addition, the project’s lead consultant and representatives from the Limbang Resident Office, Lawas District Office, Lawas District Council, and Land and Survey Department were also present.

“The bridge promises smoother connectivity and greater development for the Northern Region.

“Once completed, the bridge will enhance accessibility, boost trade, and spur socio-economic growth for the people of Lawas and its surrounding areas,” said RECODA. — DayakDaily
