Prof Dr James Chin to kick off TSI’s Leadership Programme on July 22

KUCHING, July 14: Professor Dr James Chin of the Asia Institute of the University of Tasmania, Australia will kick off The Sarawak Initiatives (TSI)’s inaugural Leadership Programme with a lecture on the ‘Past, Present and Future of Sarawak’ this coming July 22.

TSI, a non-governmental organisation based in Kuching, will be launching its first Leadership Programme on July 22 in which some 35 local lecturers and academicians are expected to give lectures on various subjects of interest.

According to a media release today, over 200 Sarawakians have registered to participate in the programme to feature a series of lectures that will run until March next year.

The second lecture to follow will be presented by Professor Dr Shad Saleem Faruqi on ‘The Special Position of Sabah and Sarawak under the Federal Constitution’ scheduled on July 24.

The third lecture on ‘Overriding Effects of Emergency Laws over the Federal and State Constitutions’ will be delivered by Dato Sri JC Fong on July 31.

TSI will release further information on the dates, lectures and any changes to the schedule of lectures from time to time via its websites.

Participants will be informed in advance of the dates of each lecture.

TSI chairman Datuk John Tenewi also took the opportunity to thank all the lecturers for their spontaneous support to the programme aimed at exposing young Sarawakians, who are the future leaders of Sarawak, to the fundamentals of good leadership in the management of the affairs of their states and Malaysia as a whole.
