KUCHING, July 27: A youth has been sentenced to 12 months’ jail for robbing a woman at a recreational park in MJC Batu Kawah and an additional 18-month jail term for dishonestly retaining a stolen phone.
Mohamad Nurulhisyam Haierul, 23, pleaded guilty to the charges brought before Magistrate Mason Jaro Lenya Barayan.

The robbery occurred around 8.40pm on April 29, 2023, at the recreational park in MJC Batu Kawah.
According to the facts of the case, the 25-year-old victim was walking alone in the park when the accused approached her from behind and forcefully snatched her handbag.
