KUCHING, April 29: The standard operating procedures (SOPs) for Gawai bazaars released by the Ministry of Public Health, Housing and Local Government dated March 23, 2022, have been abolished.
Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) said that organising activities, including performances and programmes on stage, is now subjected to new protocols set by local authorities.
This is in line with Sarawak’s similar implementation of new SOPs announced by the Ministry of Health (MOH), effective May 1.
“However, processions during traditional festive celebrations are still banned,” said SDMC in a statement today. — DayakDaily
